After the sales subsidiaries in Chicago, Barcelona, HongKong, Shanghai and Poona HAIMER founds the Joint Venture HAIMER Korea Co., Ltd. together with Mr. Seong Ho Hong in Seoul, South Korea.
The Joint Venture with the experienced HAIMER sales partner on the spot will strengthen the Asian sales activities and locally serve the Korean customer potential. Therefore HAIMER can target the South-Korean market more systematically and enable local direct service to the customers.
Seong Ho Hong has huge experience in machining and will act as President of HAIMER Korea Co., Ltd. in the future.

EMO 2011 – HAIMER impresses with innovations and new booth design

The world's premier trade fair for the metal working technology made a statement to the economy and demonstrated how powerful the innovations in the machining and metal industries are - also after a heavy crises period. With a huge enthusiasm and extreme positive impressions customers from all over the world were visiting the EMO 2011.
For HAIMER it was an overall successful event as well. The trade fair showed which important instrument it is to present the established quality and numerous innovations to a wide expert customer base.
Many business partners and customers accepted this offer and caught up very specific and interested on the new and existing products. Mainly the Safe-Lock-System created highest interest for many visitors and in the whole industry sector. New Ideas for higher productivity

Haimer, worldwide leading provider of tool holding solutions will not only present its successful products and developments in the area of highly precise tool holders, tool shrink and balancing machines at the EMO 2011, but also numerous news and detail improvements contributing to higher productivity for machining can be viewed by the visitors at the Haimer booth in hall 4 E14.
In many cases the detail makes the difference. As Haimer uses its products also in its own production the R&D department receives immediate feedback about further opportunities for improvement. And this was the case at the optional Cool Jet system, that integrates coolant bores in shrink fit chucks and mechanical tool holders. Two or three nozzles transport the coolant directly to the cutting edge. True to the slogan “make good things even better” Haimer has now developed the Cool Flash system out of the existing Cool Jet system. This revolutionary cooling system can be integrated into shrink fit chucks. The new Cool Flash system does not only provide coolant to selected spots but circularly around the cutting tool. Thereby the coolant stays along the cutting tool and floats as a film up to the cutting edge. The Cool Flash system can be added even subsequently to the shrink fit chucks.
For heavy roughing Haimer has developed a new high precision collet chuck, the Heavy Duty Collet Chuck. It comes with highest runout accuracy of less than 3 µm, enormous clamping force and has a vibration low rigid outer geometry. All Heavy Duty Collet Chucks can be equipped with the patented pull out protection “Safe-Lock” from Haimer: Now even the customers who do not use the shrink fit technology yet can take advantage of the Safe-Lock system, which enables high precision clamping and absolute process security.
Also for the shrink fit and balancing machines Haimer has come out with innovations. For the Power Clamp shrink fit units the tool clamping specialists from Igenhausen, Bavaria developed the so-called cross field coil. Within this new coil many small elements align the contour of the shrink fit chuck as pushers and adjust the coil accordingly. By the flexible adjustment of the cross field coil (the name comes from the redirection of the magnetic field) the inductive heat will be inserted with utmost precision at the desired position.
For precision machining it is of great importance to fine balance the cutting tools. The broad range of Haimer Tool Dynamic balancing machines is focused on highest repeatability and all machines are easy to use. The Tool Dynamic 800 which will be shown at the EMO is a perfect machine for balancing grinding wheels and all kind of rotors. In Hannover the machine will be presented with a new balancing adapter system, which can be used independently of the interface. The adapter is universally suitable for all kind of grinding wheels, no matter which diameter. The clamping process is automated and the adapter centers itself. A new setup for changing the diameter of the grinding wheel is not necessary.
Apart from these innovations especially the Safe-Lock clamping system will be a highlight at the Haimer booth. In the meantime leading cutting tool manufacturers like Kennametal, Sandvik Coromant, Widia, Walter, Emuge Franken and HAM have signed license agreements with Haimer and will offer the Safe-Lock system especially where demanding high performance cutting (HPC/HSC) is concerned. The pull-out protection for shank tools combines high precision press fitting with positive locking elements and thus ensures optimum process reliability, longer tool life and higher productivity.

On September 19th 2011 the EMO Hannover, the world's premier trade fair for the metal working technology will be opening its gates. For six days the city of Hannover will be the center of attraction for production specialists from throughout the world – and HAIMER will be in the thick of it in hall 4 booth E14. Centrally located with a new booth design on a record space at HAIMER it is all about pure technology.
This year's EMO Hannover 2011 is presenting its products under the motto "More than machine tools". At the HAIMER booth you will definitely experience this “more” – several innovations will be presented by HAIMER with world premieres at this year´s show again. These news will offer direct added value for you as our customers in terms of more economical and productive working.
The center of attraction at HAIMER’s EMO booth will surely be the patented Safe-LockTM system. This safest connection in the world, a pull-out protection for cutting tools at HPC of difficult to machine materials, has just made its breakthrough. Not least by the license partnerships with big cutting tool manufacturers, the Safe-LockTM system has become an important innovation especially in the aerospace industry. Having proven its enormous cost saving potential in various tests and applications by the combination of a positive form fit with an accurate torque press fit locking, the technology will become a standard in high performance cutting (HPC), especially for aluminum, Inconel, steel or titanium very soon.
A further highlight at the HAIMER booth will be a live-machining of of an aluminum ashtray on a DMG HSC 55 linear. Consistent with this HSC machining center and its powerful spindle, the high-precision and fine balanced shrink fit chucks of the HAIMER Power Series will be in use. The Safe-Lock system from HAIMER ensures secure heavy metal removal
The next big step to the breakthrough of the revolutionary Safe-Lock technology is done. With Kennametal a worldwide established cutting tool manufacturer could be licensed for the patented HAIMER Safe-Lock system.
The Safe-Lock system from the tool clamping specialist HAIMER is a pull-out protection for round shanked cutting tools that combines a positive form fit, with an accurate torque press fit locking. It ensures optimum process reliability, longer cutting tool life and higher productivity – especially where demanding high performance cutting (HPC) or high speed cutting (HSC) is concerned. Kennametal will be offering its customers these benefits in the near future. The global cutting tool company has signed the respective licence and will be presenting its Safe-Lock solutions at the EMO show in Hannover.
